CRISTINA RODRIGUEZ 

Born in Chile, Cristina is the artistic director of Paisajes Sonoros. She began her piano studies in the Liceo Experimental Artistico, in Santiago de Chile. She then continued studying in the Conservatory in the Universidad Mayor, Chile, where she studied with Alexandros Jusakos and Luis Alberto Latorre, graduating in 2010 with distinction. She was finalist in the international competition  ´Claudio Arrau´.(Quilpué, Chile, 2003) y obtained the second prize in the piano competition organised by ´Alapp´ (Santiago de Chile). From 2011 to 2015 studied with the outstanding Chilean pianist Edith Fischer and in 2016 she was awarded with a scholarship to study in England, doing a master degree in piano performance in the University of York, where she graduated with distinction. In 2017, looking for different ways to colaborate in the music world, she moved to the city of Rangoon, Myanmar, where she worked as a piano teacher and sub-director of the second music institute founded in the city.

 
As a soloist, she has performed widely in different regions of Chile and abroad, mentioning with special highlight her tour in Uruguay, Brasil, Argentina and Easter Island. She has also played in Switzerland, Uk and Portugal. Always pursuing a constant learning, she has attended many educational events, such as the Encuentro de Piano Mercosur (Argentina 2013 y 2017), the music festival ´Verão Classico´(Lisboa, 2016) and the ´Semaine Internationale de Piano´ (Suiza, 2015, 2018 y 2019).  She has taken master classes with many renowned pianists, such as Jorge Pepi-Alós, Denisse Benda, Danni Driver, Josep Maria Colom and Jean Marc Luisada.

 

In July 2019 she released her first piano album, named ´Pianismo Latinoamericano, volume 1´, which intends to be the beginning of a collection dedicated to latinoamerican music for piano written by latinoamerican composers.
