Rodrigo furet guarda

Originally from Concepción, he began his piano studies at the age of 9 with  Carmen Díaz in Concepción, continuing  later with Professor Elena Rodríguez in Chillán.

In 1990 he won the 1st Santa Cecilia de Chillán Musical Performance Contest. Later he was awarded in the Concepción Young Talents Contest and in the Jorge Peña Hen Contest in La Serena.

From 1996 to 2005 he studied in Europe, where he obtained the following diplomas:

Bachelor of Music at Conservatorium van Amsterdam, The Netherlands (2001)

Postgraduate in Music at Hogeschool voor Kunsten Utrecht, The Netherlands (2003)

Solo Piano Specialization at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, Belgium (2005)

His teachers were  Jan Marisse Huizing, Paolo Giacometti and  Levente Kende.

He has actively participated in master classes of artists such as Håkon Austbø, Marie-Françoise Bucquet, Lee Kum Sing, Leonard Stein, Maria João Pires, Jard van Nes (Lied) and the Borodin Quartet (chamber music).

As part of his studies in Antwerp he studied lied accompaniment for a year with the Belgian Jozef De Beenhouwer.

As a performer, he has given concerts at Vredenburg halls in Utrecht, Cristofori and Bachzaal in Amsterdam, Singel in Antwerp, Isidora Zegers, Goethe Institute in Santiago, Maule Regional Theater in Talca, Lake Theater in Frutillar, Aula Magna UCSC Concepción, Universidad de Concepción Theater Municipal Theater of Temuco, among others.

He has performed as a soloist with different national orchestras, as well as being part of various chamber groups.

During the last years, he has found himself strongly devoted to teaching. He currently works in  the Armando Dufey Art School in Temuco, seeking to empower young students in the regional Chile. Several of his students have been awarded and highlighted in various competitions and meetings of young musicians in Chile and abroad.
